Franklin New Jersey Minerals Cabochon

This material is from the lead mine in Franklin NJ.  This site is famous for fluorescent minerals with over 300 species found.  We aren't sure which minerals are in this piece but it does fluoresce.

The cabochon measures 35 x 17 x 7.6 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 3.0 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
