Australian Pink Opal Cabochon

This material comes from an area east of Perth Australia.  Technically it's opalized radiolarite, which is a chert like stone.

The cabochon measures 47 x 16 x 7.9 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 3.0 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
