Thulite Cabochon

Thulite, which is sometimes called Rosaline, is a massive pink manganese-bearing variety of the mineral zoisite.  It was first found in Norway which is where this material comes from.

The cabochon measures 37 x 23 x 5.7 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 2.5 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
