Petrified Palm Root Cabochon

Like most petrified plan materials this is a cell by cell replacement of the wood with chalcedony.  This material comes from Indonesia and has the typical black and tan mix.

The cabochon measures 32 x 20 x 6.2 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 2.8 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
