Cumpas Turquoise Cabochon

This turquoise comes from northern Mexico.  This material generally has inclusions of clear quartz and metallic pyrite.  This has been stabilized.

The cabochon measures 36 x 21 x 7.2 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 2.5 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
