Gold Tinted Ho Creek Moss Agate Doublet Cabochon

Hog Creek Moss Agate comes from Idaho.  We've only been able to find a couple of slabs of this from one supplier so it's not a very common stone.  The doublet is backed with black obsidian.

Doublets are 2 stones glued together.  We use a colorant in the epoxy while gluing the two stones together.  The clear agate allows the color to show through to create a unique cab.

The cabochon measures 38 x 21 x 5.9 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 3.4 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
