Rhodonite Cabochon

Rhodonite is a manganese inosilicate, with the formula (Mn, Fe, Mg, Ca)SiO3, and member of the pyroxenoid group of minerals, crystallizing in the triclinic system.  That is a mouthful.  LOL  It's a pretty pink and is in a nice white and black matrix.

The cabochon measures 37 x 19 x 5.0 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 2.4 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
