Sunburst Stone Cabochon

Sunburst Stone is a man-made material.  It' created by grinding natural minerals to a fine powder, mixing, heating to a high temperature, then allowed to cool slowly to allow for crystallization.  It's made in Australia.

The cabochon measures 28 x 24 x 7.4 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 2.7 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
