K2 Stone Cabochon

This material is mostly granite with azurite spots.  Many websites incorrectly claim this material comes from snowy peak of the second highest mountain in the world.  It actually is found in Pakistan and the mine is only about 300 feet above sea level.

The cabochon measures 33 x 19 x 7.3 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 2.8 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
