Bridewell Stone Cabochon

This is a man-made material created by crushing natural stones, mixing the powders, heating under extremely high temperatures then allowing to cool very slowly allowing for the crystals to form and give it chatoyance.

The cabochon measures 27 x 13 x 4.9 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 2.5 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
