Chrysocolla Cabochon

Chrysocolla is an oxidized copper mineral.  It commonly comes from the desert southwest and northern Mexico.  It's very popular due to it's bright blue color.  The red in this one is cuprite.

The cabochon measures 52 x 13 x 6.3 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 2.8 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
