Willow Creek Jasper Cabochon

Willow Creek Jasper is a well known lapidary material.  It comes from Eagle Idaho and has been mined for over 40 years.  The jasper is actually found in the middle of thundereggs, surrounded by rhyolite, with some eggs being as big as 10' in diameter.

The cabochon measures 34 x 21 x 4.4 mm.  It has a girdle height approx. 2.4 mm and is sloped at 5 degrees for ease in setting.  The back is also polished.
